And They Say Crime Doesn’t Pay
Hip Hop t-shirts promote lyrics - band t-shirts of the 80’s
and 90’s promoted their tours.
It has been reported that some of the 80's and 90's bands
actually received more income from their t-shirts than their music. But Hip Hop
stars should take a bow. Hip Hop Inc. raps it’s way to Wall Street, via
Seventh Avenue.
Since the mega successful fashion lines, Phat Farm and Baby Phat,
other Hip Hop artists and music executives have followed suit (no pun intended).
Not exclusive to clothing they are also involved in beverages and restaurants.

With 50 Cent’s huge following, mass marketing and brand
recognition, G-Unit t-shirts and men’s clothing line quickly became a
household name when it debuted in 2004.
Let’s not forget that G-Unit only released their first album
in November, 2003 however, 50 Cent already had history and was well known –
good or bad.
Mainstream
Americans Wear Hip Hop T-shirts
Although G-Unit now reach mainstream Americans, that wasn’t always the case.
There was a time when their violence, profanity and culture scared Middle
America.
While many Rappers have a reputation for gang violence without
merit, G-Unit’s members have had many issues with police. Rappers with real
street credibility.
G-Unit’s
Hip Hop T-shirts
Not Popular with Police
With the violence that occurs at concerts and promotions it’s
only logical that G-Unit and other rappers would have frequent disputes with
police.
G-Unit’s pedigrees: 50 Cent - shot nine times (who’s
counting), Yayo – jail time for weapons violations and Young Buck – stabbed
a man who attacked Dr Dre.
There’s more but it’s too boring, however, you may find it
on a Hip Hop t-shirt or tank top in amongst the lyrics.
Hip
Hop T-shirts Create Wall Street Criminals
The astounding thing about all of this is that it is difficult to find news
articles with a negative slant on these criminals. Just the opposite.
Main stream news outlets rave about their entrepreneurial skills
and how they made it to Wall Street.
I ask myself the question. “How can it be cool to advertise a
gang of criminals on your t-shirt?” Hip Hop t-shirts wear one to wall street.
