An Aeroflot t-shirt - like waving a red flag at a bull.
It’s not so long ago that wearing a t-shirt with the name
Aeroflot and picture of a hammer and sickle prominently displayed would have put
you - at the very least - under some sort of surveillance as being a communist
supporter. My how things have changed.

For those of you who don’t know what Aeroflot is, it is an airline. Not just
an airline it was once the largest airline in the world.
And a Russian Airline at that, it made air travel possible to millions by
offering unrivalled low air fares.

It’s An ‘Airline’ for God’s Sake
Because someone wears an Aeroflot t-shirt it is no indication that they are
white-washing oppression or that they endorse the disgusting purges of Stalin.
The large airline wings along with the hammer and sickle
indicate the support for the airline and not an endorsement for communism. So
please relax.
Some
of the Facts about Aeroflot
First founded under the name of Dobroflot in 1923 and changed to Aeroflot in
1937.
Aeroflot started commercial flights into the US in 1968 but
flights were suspended in 1979 by the US Government due to the Soviet
intervention in Afghanistan. Flights were eventually resumed in 1986
Aeroflot was once considered the worlds largest airline and by
1976 had carried more than 100 million passengers.
In 1990 Aeroflot was divided into dozens of new airlines.
The western made airbus A310 became a part of their fleet in
1992.
In 1994 the airline was made a stock company under the name
Aeroflot, Russian International Airlines. This period also saw the introduction
of Boeing 767 jets to their fleet. Since then Aeroflot have operated a variety
of Boeings.
From 2000 the airline has operated under the name of Aeroflot
Russian Airlines.

Now you know who you represent when you wear an Aeroflot t-shirt and it’s not
the commies, it’s their t-shirt. Or is it? You represent Aeroflot which
most likely has many shareholders from western countries.
